Debi’s Story

Originally from the Derbyshire Peak district, I grew up within a family of bakers. My Mum and Aunt were bakers both at home and in their jobs baking everything from birthday cakes to pork pies. A highlight of a weekend was a trip to my Nana’s where there was always freshly made bread and the most magical apple pie with custard.

I am never happier than when I’m trying out a new menu or baking an old favourite in the kitchen. I have baked for friends and family for many years including wedding, baby shower and birthday cupcakes, catering for family birthday parties, our annual Halloween party, traditional cricket teas, tennis clubs and for work events.

After leaving school I qualified as a Registered Nurse and have worked clinically as a nurse for 30 years. I recently left nursing and now my passion is my baking company.

In my spare time I am a level 2 coach for both tennis ( Jimmy’s Tennis) and cricket ( Town Malling Cricket Club). I also play cricket for the Women’s team at Town Malling Cricket Club. During matches I have loved providing a traditional cricket tea with finger sandwiches and cakes.
